The Falcon 50 received FAA certification in March 1979. The new aircraft incorporated a super-critical airfoil and an area-ruled aft fuselage section. 252 of the original Falcon 50s were eventually built through 1996. The Falcon 50 has a total of 700 cubic feet of cabin space, and is capable of seating up to sixteen passengers, although normal executive seating configuration is seven to ten passengers. The cabin features a full-service galley, stand-up lavatory, and berthable all-tracking seats. The Falcon 50 is powered by three Garrett TFE731-3-1C turbofan engines rated at 3,700 lbs. thrust each. Inspection interval on the engines is 4,200 hours.
